George Ovashvili ((グルジア語:გიორგი ოვაშვილი); 14 November, 1963) is a Georgian film director and screenwriter. ==Biography== George Ovashvili was born in Mtskheta, Georgia. He studied at the Polytechnical Institute (1981—1986). Ovashvili is a graduate of the Georgian State Institute of Cinema and Theatre〔:ka:საქართველოს თეატრისა და კინოს სახელმწიფო ინსტიტუტი〕 (1996), and the New York Film Academy at Universal Studios in Holywood (2006). A stage actor at the State Theatre, he also directed plays for children and ran an advertising agency. The writer of a television program entitled Georgian Bulletin for a broadcaster in New York. His short film, ''Zgvis Donidan'' — ''Eye Level'' (2005) received numerous awards. He has directed a number of poignantly elegant shorts, most notably — ''Eye Level'' (New York Film Academy Scholarship Award at Berlinale 2005, Special Prize of International Jury at Odense FF) and The Trolley (Special Prize of international jury at Kiev "Molodist" FF).
